"CARRY ON CRICKET" AT HYTHE

We've just had our annual post Xmas "Do" at Hythe - another great weekend for the cricket club - once again brilliantly organised by Theresa. This year's theme was "Carry On" films and every one joined in and made complete fools of themselves. During the day whilst the ladies were having a competition to see who could make themselves more beautiful in the hotel Spa, the men played golf. The golf competition was won by "bandit" Tom Hobbs, but there is still a stewards enquiry going on to decide the winner of the ladies competition. The evening quiz winners were Bill and Kim Lewis and the fancy dress winners were Marcus Parfett and Becky Stevens. ( As usual I won the competition for being the most sober) All those who attended are shown in the photos below and all are easily recognized - even Danielle in the first one ???

As you can see there were a lot of cowboys (and cowgirls) and even Santa turned up to give out presents.

Unfortunately they were all a bit shy to have their photos taken this year but I did manage to get a quick flash of some of them.

PITCH REPAIRS

After the last match of the season at home work was done on the playing area. It was first scarified then all the muck swept up and dumped. Seeding and fertilizing then took place before a sprinkling of Surrey loam was added.

Scarifying...........a posh word for ripping it up !

Sweeping up ............. John has finally found his true niche in life !
